So, my job has cause massive amounts of stress. Lot's of stuff that I don't need to go into right now, let's just say the finances and the amount of work is overwhelming on a daily basis.
Add to this, I have a Board of Directors of 30. Now, making a group of that size happy is challenging on the best of days. But, add into that our financial situation, the current economic situation and the fact that I work for builders and industries that support the home building industry...well I'm sure you can use your imagination.
So, when I was hired, one of the items on my employment agreement is that I would have a review every 3 months the first year and yearly thereafter. Well, the first 3 months slipped by all of us. So, we got it together to do it today (6 months in). And, the best news EVER, they are happy with me!
It just feels good to know you are appreciated. All the work I put in seems worthwhile when the people you are doing if for know it and give you credit for it.
And yes, I even cried a little, because it did mean so much to me that they are grateful for my work and what I am giving to them and the Association.
I have to say, the Executive Committee I work for is AWESOME! I work for a great team and that makes it worthwhile.
Ok, thanks for listening (or reading would be more appropriate). Sometimes you just need to share!

The Weekend
Wow! We have had a great weekend and it's only Saturday!
On Friday, Lauren got to go spend the night with one of her favorite cousins, Ayanna. Ayanna has been in Salem visiting with Grandma & Grandpa the past week.
Two peas in a pod
While Lauren was off having some fun, Jordan and I had a "date". I love it when I get to spend time with one of the kids one-on-one. Especially Jordan, it seems to be a rare occurrence as he gets older. We tried out a new Mexican restaurant. Food, ok. Company, great!
What a cute couple! :)
Then came today...we had a milestone happen in our home. Lauren learned to ride her new bike, by herself, without training wheels! Can you say WOOO HOOO! I am so proud of her!
One of the coolest parts of this whole experience was who worked with her. It was a very neat moment as a mom to see your children working so closely and well together. These are the moments that you will always remember.

Sorry...
Ok, maybe I'm not very good at this Blog thing. I'll try again.
Jordan's report card was, how shall I say this, not punishable. However, not what he is capable of. We are working on that....
I guess that's all for now. I promise I will try to do better about posting.
Been a busy month. Work is NUTS! Been working most nights as well as the regular 9 or so hour day. At least I'm not causing trouble!
And, I've been getting pressure to work on my Facebook page. Thanks for pushing me, I guess I needed it.
Both kids got their report cards. Lauren's was awesome. Her teacher wrote the funniest note about her. Just to give you an idea, it started off with "they sure broke the mold when they made her!" (thank goodness! :)) She loves school and her teacher seems to love having her.

Jordan had an orchestra concert last week. Wow! They are good. I didn't realize how much I could enjoy classical music. I guess it makes a difference when it is your child playing....
I guess that's all for now. I promise I will try to do better about posting.
